HOMESICK FOR HEAVEN
by Lu Raper

Sometimes I grow homesick for Heaven
For all the dear loved ones I’ve known
Who have gone on to Glory before me
Singing praises around God’s great throne.

When my feet are so tired and so weary
As I stumble along on life’s road
I grow homesick to walk with my Savior
Up there on streets paved with gold.

Sometimes I grow homesick for Jesus
And I long for His welcome up there
I know there are wonders unheard of
In that home He has gone to prepare.

To a Christian, death is not tragic
It is only a blessed release
For the Spirit flies home to Heaven
To live forever in God’s love and peace.

HEAVEN IS JUST A BREATH AWAY
by Lu Raper

It won’t be long till I see Jesus,
I’ll see my Savior face to face.
I’ll live with Him through endless ages.
Heaven is just a breath away.

I’ll say goodbye to all my heartaches,
My worried nights and troubled days.
I’ll say “Hello” to all my loved ones.
Heaven is just a breath away.

There’ll be no pain, there’ll be no sorrow;
There’ll be no deaths and no decay.
Only joy will be tomorrow.
Heaven is just a breath away.

It won’t be long till I reach Glory.
I’ll walk its golden streets some day.
I’ll sing again love’s old sweet story.
Heaven is just a breath away.

It won’t be long till I see Jesus.
I’ll see my Savior face to face.
I’ll live with Him through endless ages.
Heaven is just a breath away.
